It seemed like there were plenty of options for endurance training plans...
...until we took a hard look at what’s actually available for ordinary (non-elite) athletes.

We realised that training for ordinary athletes was limited to three main options:
DOWNLOAD A TEMPLATE TRAINING PLAN
While often cheap (or free), a cookie-cutter training plan...
- Isn’t personalized to you
- Does nothing to keep you motivated
- Doesn’t know if you’re actually making progress (and can’t adjust along the way).
You have to wait until race day to find out if your template training plan worked, which means you could be spending months training and still show up unprepared.
And what if you’re training for multiple races throughout the year? Cookie-cutter plans can’t help you optimize your training schedule for for a half marathon race 6 weeks from now and an Olympic event this summer.
SPEND $200+ A MONTH ON COACHING
Coaching can be great if you’re looking for absolute elite performance, but it can be a lot to invest up front, especially when you’re just dipping your toes into a new sport.
And unfortunately, not all coaches are equal. Some expert coaches are worth every penny, while others are...pulling your marathon training plan straight from a template they found online. And that’s disappointing.
Plus, it’s frustrating when you invest in a coach, expecting back-and-forth dialogue, but only get weekly workouts and no additional guidance.
DO IT YOURSELF
You could create a plan yourself. A great option, if you've got extensive knowledge in training methodologies (and the desire to take on a challenge).
But, if you're creating your own training plan, you probably want some help building something comprehensive. Plus, building a plan takes time — and if you’re like us, you’d rather be working out.
