I need help with swimming.

If you can not swim 400 meters/400 yards:
400 meters or 400 yards, non-stop, without being completely out of breath, is the minimum amount you need to be able to swim in order to start training for a triathlon or SwimRun event.
If you aren't able to swim that amount yet, you will struggle to complete the workouts necessary to be ready to swim in any distance of race.
But, we do have a solution! We recommend you purchase the book, Triathlon Swimming Foundations.
Thousands of athletes have used this book to go from non-swimmers, to being totally comfortable swimming in a triathlon, all within a few months!

If you can already swim 400 meters/400y continuously:
Some folks are able to swim the minimum required amount of 400 meters or yards but still don't feel totally comfortable in the water.
There are swim drills built into your MōTTIV training app workouts, so follow the swim drills that are being prescribed, as that should help you get more comfortable and/or start to improve your speed.
Those drills are done based on when they should happen in the year, and they're always done sequentially so they're building upon each other.
Some athletes who ARE already comfortable, have found also reading Triathlon Swimming Foundations (as referenced in the above section) to be helpful in gaining speed and comfort in the water.
