Marking A Workout As Complete

Workout Completion Status
We know athletes don't always follow their workouts as prescribed; sometimes we stop early, and sometimes we go much longer than prescribed. There can be many reasons for that, and they're all valid!
But if you consistently do something different than what the app has given you, either more OR less, you can put your race-readiness in jeopardy or even make yourself more prone to injury. Exercise too hard/too long for too many sessions and you can actually hinder your progress. It's the same if you frequently cut your workouts short.
That's why we allow you to mark your workout three different ways: Yes, as written!, I adjusted it, and I didn't do it.
Don't worry, nobody is judging you for how you mark your workouts! And nobody else can see how you marked your workouts but you.
You can mark your workouts manually, or they can be auto-completed if you've connected your app to other devices. (Click here to read the article on connecting your MOTTIV app to all of your devices.)
By marking workouts this way, it gives you a better understanding of how your training is progressing compared to a simple yes/no. We’ll also be using the data on how you complete workouts to help us shape future updates to the MōTTIV app.
WHEN TO MARK A WORKOUT "Yes, as written!"
You should mark a workout as Yes, as written! if you’ve completed the workout within 25% of the prescribed time and have completed the workout without adjustments.
For example:
- For a 40min run workout, you completed 30-50min
- For a 1:30hr bike workout, you completed 1:08-1:53hrs
- For a 30min swim workout, you completed 23-38min
You should select Yes, as written!.
WHEN TO MARK A WORKOUT "I adjusted it"
You should mark a workout as I adjusted it if you worked out more than 25% off the prescribed time, or adjusted the workout.
For example:
- For a 40min Zone 2 run workout, you did 40min a track workout with a friend
- For a 40min intense bike workout, you did 40min but only did 4 of the prescribed 6 intervals
- For a 30min swim workout, you completed less than 23min or more than 38min
You should select I adjusted it.
WHEN TO MARK A WORKOUT "I didn't do it"
You should mark a workout as I didn't do it if simply didn't do it, or you did something completely different from the prescribed workout.
For example:
- For a 40min run workout, you did a swim workout instead
- For a 1:30hr bike workout, you took a rest day
- For a 30min strength workout, you did a HIIT class
You should select I didn't do it.
MOST ASKED QUESTIONS
Why don't I have a rest day in my plan?
Everyone is different, but it's not required to have a full day off every week to make solid progress and avoid injury..
